Governor Mao Meets with NRTA Guests

Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People"s Government of Hunan Province, met in Changsha with Cao Shumin, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and secretary of the CPC Leadership Group and director of the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA), and her party on the afternoon of August 14, 2023.

Governor Mao thanked NRTA for its long-term strong support to Hunan"s various tasks and briefly introduced the province"s economic and social development. He noted that Hunan is now focusing on "accelerating construction of China"s leading audio and video industry cluster"; giving full play to the advantages of the "Hunanese Broadcasting"; continuing to expand and strengthen the Malanshan Video Cultural and Creative Industrial Park; speeding up the building of a video supercomputing center and an ultra-high-definition video production cloud platform; and, striving to establish a whole industrial chain integrating "interview, editing, broadcasting, communication, and display".

He expected NRTA to further support the branding efforts of "Hunanese Broadcasting" and enhance project introduction and technology research and development in the Malanshan Video Cultural and Creative Industrial Park. It may take Hunan"s audio and video industry as an experimental area for industry exploration; provide more policies, technologies, standards, talents, platforms and other guidance and support; and, attract more key research and development laboratories to establish a presence in Hunan, he added.

Director Cao believed that the "Hunanese Broadcasting" boasts brand effects, talents, and resources, and is a backbone of the national radio and television industry. NRTA will take the ministerial-provincial co-building as its starting point to further support construction of the Malanshan Video cultural and Creative Industrial Park; fully assist the high-quality development of Hunan"s audio and video industry; and, work together to build Malanshan into a globally influential digital video industrial chain base and a new landmark of media integration.
